The 64th Oaks Stakes took place on Friday 27th May 1842 and was won by Our Nell (8/1), by Bran out of Fury, was owned by George Dawson, trained by his half-brother Tom Dawson at Brecongill, Middleham and ridden by Tommy Lye, who won by a length. The winner won £3,025 (Equivalent to £289,800 in 2017) and there were 16 runners.
